Contemporary Scottish Artist

Of Northern Isles stock, I was born and grew up in the Shetland islands.  I now live and work in Orkney, where the influence of an ancient history and a unique island environment filters through my work.

The ever changing light and skies is the essence of an Orkney landscape, surrounded by seas that can cajole then turn in anger against a forgiving coast.  The moods that stir and excite the inner soul show us nature and it’s elements at work, controlling man’s endeavors.  The industry of the islander is with the land and sea, and as an artist I attempt to express this fragility and resolve within a unique environment.
